This holiday season, we wanted to ask each of the Hazel & Rose team members what they had their eye on. But first, we wanted to do a fun exercise: an abridged version of The Proust Questionnaire. 

Laura is a talented dancer and choreographer and a passionate individual who grew up around small business. She's modeled for us, planned Fashion Week events, and kept us organized. You can spot her dancing with Zenon Dance Company, Kelvin Wailey, or her newest endeavor: Slo Dance Company. 

Laura was the very first Hazel & Rose hire back in May 2016. Not only did she come recommended by a friend and customer of the shop, but Emma later discovered that Laura had reached out via Facebook message the week the shop opened (two months before Hazel & Rose was even hiring!). 

What is your most treasured possession?

Whatever notebook or planner I'm keeping all the important life details in at any given time.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Desserts/pastries - I will go to great lengths for them & they're always completely unnecessary.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Learning & performing a monumental role in an epic piece called "Ezekiel's Wheel" in under two weeks. It was a life changing experience. 

What do you value most in your friends?

The pure love we have for each other, expressed in so many unique ways.

If you could choose an object to come back as, what would you choose?

A stoic painting.

What is your motto, the words you live by or that mean a lot to you?

The practice is the performance & the performance is the practice.
