These are overdyed with a shibori technique. A hand manipulated resist dye process, done by the local natural dye house we work with. These styles were originally white and overdyed with cutch, another plant dye.

* Each piece is dyed by hand, each one is different in saturation and texture *

Caring For Naturally Dyed Cut and Sew Knits: To wash your naturally dyed pieces, we suggests using a pH neutral soap with like colors as these could bleed. The same machine washing process used for our other cut and sew pieces is fine for these pieces as well. Air drying will also help give the color a longer life. Just be sure to dry them out of direct sunlight, this can cause fading.

If you happen to get an acid stain (like citrus, tea, coffee) on your naturally dyed piece, soak the garment in cold water, then hand wash then lay flat to dry.
If you happen to get an oil stain, sprinkle the stain with baking powder, let rest for 30 min - 1 hour before hand washing.
For any other stains, soak the garment in warm water mixed with a little bit of pH neutral soap, then hand wash and lay flat to dry.
Naturally dyed pieces will feel a little stiff at first, but will soften up with wear and washing.

Wol Hide creates easy wear for living in. Each piece is created with quality production focused on the craft of knitting, subtle details and textural elements. We use natural, organic and deadstock materials as much as possible with minimal dyeing or chemical processing, choosing fibers for how they wear on us and on the environment.

Started and run in Philadelphia by Leah D'Ambrosio who designs with a holistic approach. There is a thoughtful process behind each piece for how it will affect the environment, how it will interact with the wearer and how to make it garment that you want to keep forever.
