Big Sur is one of the most enchanting places we have ever been, and that's what keeps us going back year after year. This fragrance is the result of a trip we took to Deetjen's in the Spring. While we were there, an intense rain storm passed through, downing trees and temporarily closing down the road. In the morning, we hiked up to the bench at the top of the hill above. As it was pouring rain, the smell of pine, cedarwood, earth, and moss was enhanced by the wood smoke rising out of the cabin chimneys below. We've tried to capture that scent to share it with you.

SUGGESTED CANDLE CARE
Here's how to make our candles worth your money:
The first time you burn, make absolutely sure that the candle wax melts all the way to the edges. This will ensure an even burn all the way down.
Trim wicks to 1/4" before each light, to avoid smoking, overheating, and to help prevent tunneling.
Do not burn the candle for longer than 3-4 hours at a time, and never burn a candle when there is less than 1/4" of wax at the base. How To: Reuse Your Norden Candle
Norden candles are designed to be reused and repurposed, prolonging their life in your home. We frequently are asked about the ceramic candles' food and dishwasher safety — and we're always happy to share that the glaze we use is optimized for both. Below, we've outlined a few tips to prep your vessel for a new life...plus, shared a few of our favorite ways to repurpose the Norden 12 Oz. Ceramic Candle.
How to repurpose your vessel
1. Once you've burned your candle through, place the vessel in the freezer. The cold temperature will help you easily remove the excess wax left at the bottom of the vessel.
2. With pliers, a scraping tool, or your fingers, remove the metal wick tab and sticker at the bottom of the cup.
3. Wash thoroughly with hot water and soap. To ensure that no fragrance is left behind, run through the dishwasher (if available).
4. Fill with your favorite beverage.
Norden is a southern California based home goods brand founded in 2014 by husband and wife pair Erika and Pete Panciera. Erika, with an interest in home decor, and Pete, with years of experience as an art director and designer, started the brand after recognizing a need in the market for simple, well-designed home accessories that could stand the test of time. Each product they design and produce is informed by the pair’s eclectic design aesthetic and places they have visited around the world. As the brand has grown, it has broadened its reach into the categories of home fragrance, tabletop, ceramics, textiles, and apothecary products.
Norden’s mission is to bring warmth and comfort to the home through carefully considered, functional objects that are produced with a high level of attention to craft. Much of their line is produced in their California studio or in the U.S.A. by manufacturers with years of knowledge and experience.
