Oma Pullover | Aegean

$ 195.00
Size

The Oma pullover is what happens when your grandmother’s softest blanket turns into a cozy sweatshirt. Constructed from vintage kantha quilts - each piece is completely unique and can be worn with either side as the front or back. The mist colorway is overall neutral but subtle hints of color come through in the layers of textiles and detail stitching.

Kantha quilts are made from layers of discarded and preloved sari fabric carefully handstitched together. These quilts in particular have been loved and worn and patched - meaning the pullovers will be the third life cycle for this textile! As such, signs of wear and repair are evident and part of what makes each piece so special and unique. That said, the sturdy cotton fabric and rows of stitching give strength and stability to the textile. It’s not a fragile fabric.

Details /// pullover /// easy, boxy fit /// hem, neckline and cuffs finished with cotton twill tape

Care: Hand wash cold, separately. Line dry.

The Oma features a boxy fit, pleat detail at drop shoulder, and funnel neck. It's made from vintage kantha quilts, each with it's own unique pattern and details. These details will vary from piece to piece.

Quilt pattern may vary from the one depicted in the photos but will be in a similar colorway.

Please note - the vintage textiles used are 50 - 100 years old. Although each piece is gently cleaned before use, some foxing, age spots, and evidence of wear tells the story of the textile and is to be expected.

Museo is where art history and modern living meet. Clothing you can breathe in, you can live in. It’s for celebrations and every day of your life. I get elemental with it; earth textures like the nubbiest linen and wool in shades found on the mossy rocks of the Oregon Coast, or in the clearest California sky. Gestural and organic shapes inspired by desert mesa’s or the perfect roundness of an egg. Crisp cottons that remind you of the comforting coolness of your grandmother’s vintage sheets.

Museo began as a passion project by, Jessica Comfort, as a way to marry vintage and sustainable materials with modern design. Every piece is constructed from organic, dead stock, vintage, or reclaimed materials. Even, and perhaps most especially, when they are flawed. She lets the materials tell their own story, leaving rust marks and foxing as nature’s time signature. It’s just another form of natural dye, right?

Jessica leans into the slow in slow fashion. Collections are released seasonally but many best loved silhouettes may carry over from year to year, reinvented with new fabrics and trims. She may get 2 yards of something glorious and make a one off. She may brew up a batch of madder root or indigo dye and dip a few things for a limited edition run. She may release a new product mid season. Each piece is sewn by Jessica or another seamstress in Oregon.
